TCS Hiring: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest software company, will hire 35,000 freshers in the next six months. Between April and September, the company employed 43,000 people. Shares of the company closed at Rs 3,935 on Friday with a market cap of Rs 14.55 lakh crore.
Recruitment target of 78 thousand freshers
TCS has set a target of recruiting 78,000 freshers for the financial year 2021-22 from April this year to March next year. However, if we look at the number of employees who have left their jobs and the number of employees who have been hired, only 19 thousand freshers have increased. During the second quarter (July-September), the company recorded double-digit growth in all verticals and markets. The company said on Friday that it would pay a dividend of Rs 7 per share.
Revenue of Rs 46,867 crore
The company’s revenue between July and September stood at Rs 46,867 crore, said Rajesh Gopinath, chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. This is 16.8% more than the revenue of Rs 40,000 crore in the same period a year ago. The company’s employee quit rate was 11.9%. The rate was 8.6% in the previous quarter. That is, more employees quit their jobs in the September quarter compared to the June quarter. During this time TCS has achieved a new deal of 7.6 billion.
TCS reported that its growth in production was 21.7% while in Life Sciences it increased by 19%. Gopinath said the company has performed well due to good demand. The entire Tata group, including TCS, was celebrating its return to Air India’s home on Friday.
The company will revive Air India
Gopinath said the company would work to revive Air India and get it back on track. In dollar terms, the company’s revenue was 33 6.33 billion in the second quarter. The total number of employees in TCS at present is 528748. 36.2% of these are women.
70% of employees received both doses of the vaccine
TCS said 70% of its employees have received both doses of the vaccine. 95% of employees have received the first dose. The company’s net profit rose 14.1% in the second quarter. Its net profit was Rs 9,624 crore. It was Rs 8,433 crore in the same period a year ago. However, the company has also made provision for legal claims of Rs 1,218 crore. If removed, it would have a net profit of Rs 7,475 crore.
